The submission of images taken by members for appraisal each year is called the Club Exhibition. C&HVPS intend that many or all of these images will also be exhibited in local venues to be viewed by members of the public (for example during Hope Wakes Week at St Peter’s Church) Hope. Displaying these images in local venues is called our Public Exhibition.
There will be two categories for the 2023 exhibition of images submitted by our members, to be appraised / judged in June 2023. The first category is called The General Theme – with images submitted for appraisal covering any subject or topic.
The second category is based on a specific theme. For 2023 our Club Exhibition theme was selected by our 2022 Chairman, Keith Brown FRPS. The themed category is entitled: The Beatles and Beyond. Images submitted by members for this theme part of our exhibition should illustrate the title of a Beatles song, or any song by the four individual members as solo artists.
The images submitted by our members will be appraised by Ashley Franklin ARPS, ABPPA – twice ‘Landscape photographer of the year’. Winning images for each of the two categories will be allocated first, second and third. Ashley will also award commendations for images that show particular merit. The Catherine Cup will be awarded for the best colour image and the Denis Thorpe Trophy will be awarded for the best monochrome image.
